When David went to the Israeli battlefield to bring provisions to his brothers, he encountered a crisis caused by fear of Goliath. After his older brother rebuked him for being there, David said, “Is there not a cause?” David saw opportunity to do something that counted for God and his people. The others at the front lines stood along the sidelines hoping someone else would step forward in the face of a seeming impossible challenge — A CAUSE. David did step forward in the power of God because he saw that the cause was worth the risk and God would be with him in it.
Do you have a cause? Do you have hopes and dreams that drive you to take risks to fulfill God’s purpose for your life? The majority of people stands on the sideline of life and offers no tangible assistance to the cause. How about you? Do you know that life takes on significance only as we take hold of the ’cause’ God has planned for us? Is there not a cause sitting in your path? Isn’t there something worthwhile that you could take the risk to tackle? I’m certain there is.
God did not create us to sit and watch others run the race of life while we do nothing. Look around and you will see a need in the life of someone you could help. That person could be your cause. By serving someone in your circle of influence, witnessing about Jesus, standing against injustice, mentoring a child or scores of other possibilities you can please our Father and you can find personal satisfaction in life.
